Collection: Fiber Art

I said that I love painting but fibre is special. Textile art dates back to the prehistoric indigenous communities. Fast forward to the 21st century and textile art is regarded as a contemporary art practice. There are layers to the production of each piece. I hand spin my  own art-yarn using washed and carded roving which is wool fibers separated out so they flow smoothly into the spinning wheel.  As I create my wall hangings, I add various textures and combinations of yarn, fleece, leather, or any other material that will add depth and texture to the final creation.
